Native Falls: The Ultimate Summer Escape in Temecula Wine Country
If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Temecula Wine Country that combines nature, comfort, and family fun, Native Falls is your spot. Tucked away just past the rolling vineyards, this newly renovated campground - now owned by Galway Downs - is bringing a fresh, modern feel to lakeside camping with a dash of cozy cabin charm.
Where We Stayed: Cabin 6 with a View
We booked Cabin 6, and wow - talk about the best seat in the house! Our cabin overlooked the entire lake, and we could literally walk right down into the water from our front porch. The cabins are newly built, thoughtfully spaced, and include private fire pits, so of course, we ended our evenings with s’mores and golden hour views by the fire.
Water Activities Galore
The lake is a dream for anyone who loves the water. Whether you’re up for swimming, paddle boating, paddleboarding, bouncing on the water trampoline, or just floating around, there’s something for everyone. (Pro tip: Bring a life jacket - it’s a big lake and you’ll want to explore it all.)
Scenic Hikes + Lake Views
For a little adventure on land, there’s a beautiful trail that wraps around the lake. It’s an easy walk, but the views from the far side - looking back across the water toward the cabins - make it well worth it.
Outdoor Cooking & Cozy Comforts
Each cabin includes access to charcoal and propane grills at the clubhouse, so naturally we decided to grill up some kebobs. Inside, the cabins are outfitted with a cute little kitchenette (complete with a Keurig and pods), a cozy couch, walk-in shower, and a private bedroom setup that makes it feel more like a tiny home than a typical campsite.
Dog-Friendly = A Huge Win 🐾
We brought both of our French bulldogs, and they had the time of their lives. Dogs are welcome to explore the area and even swim in the lake - something ours took full advantage of. Native Falls is definitely a win for pet parents! The pet fee is $100 per pet.

Family-Friendly Fun For Days
From basketball and volleyball courts to lawn games and even a pool table in the clubhouse, there’s something to keep everyone entertained. It’s the kind of place where kids can run free, adults can relax, and no one ever seems bored.
Just Want a Day at the Lake?
Even if you’re not staying overnight, you can still enjoy Native Falls with a day pass for just $25 per person. It’s the perfect way to experience the lake, the views, and the activities without booking a cabin.
Final Thoughts
Native Falls exceeded our expectations in every way. Between the beautiful lakeside setting, endless things to do, and modern comforts of the cabin, it’s the kind of summer stay that brings you back to the simple joys of being outside - without giving up the creature comforts. We’ll definitely be back.
